    Description

Up for your consideration is an ultra rare Carcharocles megalodon fossil shark tooth from Sharktooth Hill near Bakersfield, California. This
    Round Mountain Silt Formation -
middle Miocene tooth, is an upper

jaw position and is approximately 15 million years old. It has blue & tan colored enamel with light mineralization (dark spotting & orange highlights) which is common for most STH megs. The bourlette is primarily composed of the dentin layer, and the root is complete with large grooves - a Miocene trait. The serrations are excellent for such a large meg including an intact tip!
