„3 MXM-7y”
1.) Description:
This battery is a water-activated electro-chemical system with copper cloride-magnesium.
It is a disposable device for supplying special equipment with DC.
There are two types of them: 3 MXM-7y and 3 MXM-7yT.
The last one of them is designed for using under tropical (T) conditions.

2.) Construction:
Battery built up by elements joined on themselves to form two circuits with nominal voltages 1.4V and 2.8V.
Cords joined on the adjacent sections, their surface is coated by water-proof paste.
Current outlets are directly wired by leads provided with special terminations.
3.)Packaging:
Each battery is packaged in a polyethylene case.
Each of packaged bateries are closed in a hermeticly isolated metal case located in a wooden box.
4.) Preparation for work:
Batteries originaly is uncharged, so it is needed to prepare them for working, as follows:
o
Cut the polyethylene case at its seam and take the battery out of it.
o
Through 5 minutes immerse the battery into a container full of 20±5ºC water.
Pay particular attention to the contacts: don’t be wet!
o
After 5 minutes take the battery off the water.
Shake (holding at its sides and no leads) 2-3 times the water off and
put the battery into the polyethylene case back with its leads out of it.
o
Now put the battery into the equipment and connect its leads.
o
No more than 30 minutes after connecting battery to the working load,
it will be provided the normal function of the equipment.
o
If a charged battery has not been connected yet to a load,
then it had to be used within maximum 10 hours storage time.
Therefore 4 hours continuous work can be accomplished.
After 1 minute battery recharging procedure afore- mentioned,
minimum 3 hour continuous work can be achieved again.
o
To achive the battery normal working condition in shorter time,
especially at lower ambient temperatures,
is recommended the use of warmer water (25±5) and t
he battery terminals short-cuting for 3-5 minutes before connecting them to the load.
5.) Storage and transportation:
o
Storage ambient temperatures: -40-+30 ºC, relative hummidity max. 80%.
o
Transportation: by anyway in its original metal box @ max height: 10.000 mtrs.
