    Description

    This is a C-2299/VRC "Control, Radio Set", serial number 2133, NSN 5820-00-892-3340. It came from a 1987 Mercedes-Benz 240GD "Wolf" that once belonged to the Danish Army but should fit any 24-volt NATO vehicle.
    Technical Manual 11-5820-401-35-1 (dated 1973) says "The C-2299/VRC is used with the receiver-transmitters of Radio Sets AN/VRC-49 and AN/VRC-45 to enable the radios to perform automatic transmission of signals between radios that are too far apart to communicate directly with each other."
    It would look neat in an old deuce, 5-ton, MUTT or CUCV.
    I don't know how old this thing is; the vehicle is a 1987 but some of the other radio components in it are from the 1970s.
    I have no way to test it and I don't know if it works. The paint is scratched but overall it looks intact.
